A Little Boy's Summer Fun in Cat Spring
While we have been off in Russia, Sasha has been spending the month in Texas. From all reports, he is having the time of his life and I wonder if he will want to come back to the normal, boring life
in Lake Villa.

His vacation started with a ride on the "BIGGEST plane" in business class with Gdaddy. Gdaddy was up in the area for a business trip so we drove from Iowa, dropped Sasha off at the Continental departure gate with Gdaddy and off they went. He had a blast until he tried to put cantaloupe into the window screen.
He was escorted from IAH in a limo driven by our good family friend, Jerry. Again, Sasha had a great time. Gdaddy and Sasha drove from the BP parking lot to Cat Spring and Sasha finally closed his e
yes for a little shut eye. As they turned in onto the road to their property, Sasha told Gdaddy that they were close to Baba's house. It's amazing what he remembers from our last trip. He's a little boy that doesn't miss a thing.

Baba had cleaned out Blake's swimming pool (yes, our Boxer loves water. We used to have an inground pool in Houston so this was our way of pacifying him when we stayed with Mom for a while) so that Sasha could have a daily swim. He LOVES it!
Before Mom arrived, we had some long conversations with Gdaddy about whether he thought
he'd be okay with a three and a half little boy all by himself for 10 days. This isn't someone who will sit quietly and read a book while you rest. He is EVERYWHERE! Gdaddy was sure they would be fine and that he would enjoy the quality male bonding opportunity.
Each day we call for the daily update which is always entertaining. First, Sasha gets up every morning and comes and wakes Gdaddy up. I think it's nice that Sasha is providing such good service for Gdaddy. Some people pay big money to have a great wake up service. Gdaddy gets up
and then makes breakfast for a hungry little boy or two hungry boys (my parents have a boxer named Quincy). Quincy and Sasha have become fast friends. They are both the same age and enjoy chasing each other around the house and yard. Quincy also likes the fact that Sasha is liable to drop something at some point which provides a nice snacking opportunity.
A couple days into Mom's stay, Gdaddy had been watering the front porch plants with a water wand and Sasha had come over to get hosed off. This led to Sasha spending more time in the wand than the pool. The next day Gdaddy bought him a sprinkler. He LOVES it and so does
Quincy. Yesterday we got a note that said that Sasha told him that he wanted to be a baseball man. So .. Gdaddy went and bought him baseball equipment. I think you can see where this is going. "Gdaddy, I want to be a race car driver". Gdaddy goes and buys Sasha a Porsche.
Let's not even talk about what's going to happen when Mia meets him, batting her long eye lashes, flashing her dimples and smiling up at him. Gdaddy, you're going to be in serious trouble :)

I am sure it makes your trip so much easier knowing Sasha is having such a good time and being taken care of so well. Grandparents are the best!
