Dinner at Gogol Mogol

No .. that's really the name of the restaurant :)

We had the pleasure of dining with Dinia and Ron and Michelle (FRUA moncheremommy) and Ian. Michelle and Ian signed their letter of intent to adopt a beautiful little girl from the Moscow Region. We all enjoyed looking at her sweet face and talking about her story. She's dealt with so much in her short life but I know that Michelle, Ian, their three sons and their four-legged friend will be just what this little girl needs to become a happy, smiley little American Princess.

Dinia and Ron were kind enough to meet me in front of TGIFs and help me with the stroller down the pedestrian tunnel. They are such sweet people and Dinia has located a car seat so that Mia can ride safely on journeys in their car.

We dined at Googl Moogl which was fairly European cuisine. En route we passed by a large German restaurant which is supposedly Condaleeza Rice's favorite restaurant in Moscow. It looks like a huge boat hit a building ... very interesting and perhaps worth investigating in the next week.

We met Ian and Michelle in front of .. you guessed it ... Starbucks. Mia immediately sensed that she had a crowd to work and started spinning her magic on Michelle and Dinia who were all too happy to bust her out of her stroller and love on her. Miss Mia was carried all the way to the restaurant by grandpa-in-training, Ron, who based on Mia's evaluation will make a splendid grandfather.

Googl Moogl was a lovely restaurant with great food and the strawberry blinis with sweet cream were exceptional. What a treat to share such a great meal with newfound friends. Mia insisted on sitting next to Dinia and each time Dinia would focus on something less important :), Mia would make noise or give Dinia a little pat to remind her that she was there and would prefer her undivided attention.

We ended our meal with a group photo and walked back up to Novy Arbat where we parted ways. Ian, being the strapping young lad that he is, proceeded to hoist Mia's stroller up and carry it downstairs himself.

We all plan to rendez vous at Eastern Quarter on Friday night. What a great treat to share one of our favorite Moscow restaurants with everyone. I'm hoping that Toni and John will be able to join us as well.

Did I mention that Baba arrives tomorrow?? I have the celebratory beverages chilling in the fridge. YEA!
