Happy Valentine's Day!
Sasha had a great day at school at his first Valentine's Day party. He picked out Mickey Mouse valentines to give to his classmates and
we purchased boxes of candy hearts. Sasha came home with the cutest Valentine's mailbox with his stash of sweets and cards. Too cute. He also made us the most beautiful artwork - his hand prints with the saying "little hands that touch our heart". I must admit to tearing up. We will be headed out to find a suitable frame this weekend. It's just that good.
He headed over to Ms. Diane's to give his friends some Valentine's cards while I prepped for our Valentine's feast. I ordered a caviar sampler and a Morel mushroom habitat for Nathan. (Morel
mushrooms are one of Nathan's favorite foods of all times).
Now, you may be thinking, ick .. caviar but we really like it especially with blinis and creme fraiche. Yum. We tried two different kinds last night and our favorite was less salty than the other. It will be interesting to try the other two. In case you're curious and want to try a sampler, I ordered it from Caviar Russe. We tried the less expensive American sampler, however, they have Russian, Iranian and other places better known for their extraordinary caviar.
Our second course was crab cakes with aioli sauce. We finished off the dinner with filets and lobster (lobster is always the food of Valentine's Day at our house). Sasha really likes beef so he loved the filet.
Sasha received two new games - a memory game and Hi'o Cherrios. He did pretty well at the memory game but struggled with the cherry game. I don't think he understood the goal but he really enjoyed organizing and re-organizing the cherries.
We have another reason to celebrate this year as we received our 171-H on Valentine's Day (a letter of favorable determination from our govenment which is what we need to adopt our daughter and bring her home). It blows my mind to think that next year we may have a little princess celebrating with us. Wow.
Happy Valentine's Day and may love fill your heart and home this year.

What great memories. Love to all. Vic, Karen and Alex
Yes, he can be a lot of fun. He is little man on the go but is turning into a very sweet little boy.
