A Bicycle Built for Three
We had a great 4th with our neighbors, Randy & Jill and their teen age children Abby and Adam (no, not the surly teen age types but the helpful, cheerful, fabulous to hang out with teen age types ... no SERIOUSLY, nice teen agers do exist and they are living next door to us!) and their family. Mia had the time of her life 'working the room' while Sasha enjoyed chasing about at high speed while squeeling. They were the only two really kids so people were very kind and enjoyed their company. They are such nice people and make tidiness and order seem natural and easy. I obviously need to spend more time with them in hopes that this will wear off on me. Of course, they don't have two children under the age of 4 and a Boxer ... and a parrot ... and some some fish and a myriad of tropical plants that get moved in and out of our house depending on the season. Oh but to dream that our house and yard would look like theirs ... maybe one day. Sigh.
For the last two days, the kiddos have been enjoying (well Sasha enjoys it while Mia's verdict is still out) going for a bicycle ride with Daddy. I had purchased a bicycle stroller for Father's Day and Nathan and he finally had the chance to put it together (for those of you in the market, the model that Schwinn has had the best rating, a high poundage limit and can also be used stand alone as a double stroller).
Every day Mia seems to be adjusting a bit more to the chaos of our household. Blake, while still believing her to part cat which, by the way, isn't good in his book, is also getting used to another munchkin in the house. At times I catch him looking at the two kiddos and looking back like, "What WERE you thinking?? Seriously, wouldn't a boxer puppy have been so much easier?"
