The Beginning of the End
Dad is being moved into hospice this afternoon. They will remove the gastric nasal feeding tube which I'm sure will be less irritating and the PICC line before they transfer him. He will be at the hospital that's close to his house. We've visited it and the staff seems really nice and the facility is very peaceful. I can't imagine how difficult it would be to work at a place where people are ending their lives. I guess at the end of the day, you know that you made them and their family as comfortable as possible during a very difficult time.
We are loading the car as I type readying ourselves for another trip to Iowa. On Wednesday, we'll be coming back to drop Sasha off at O'Hare to meet Gdaddy for his big month long Texas adventure.
There's still no word from the U.S. Embassy in Moscow on whether they will be able to ready our file so we can proceed with our court date next week. I sent a follow up note to my contact at Congresswoman Bean's office to let him know the status. I guess if it doesn't work out despite our best efforts, God must have another plan for us.
Nathan and I are absolutely worn out from life right now.
