An Update from Nick

Nick just called and he said that USCIS is emailing our approval to the National Visa Center. Yes, email. Who would have thought that email was possible at this point. I told him that one of our friends had thought that perhaps morse code or smoke signals would be the only available options for 'cabling' so it's good to know that this won't be necessary at this point at least.

The process from here is that apparently, once the NVC receives the approval they forward it directly to Moscow. Moscow then coordinates with the Guatemalan Embassy to get our file to them so that we're good to go. I asked what form this usually takes - carrier pigeon, email, scan, fax, messenger and he didn't know but thought with six whole days, it would happen by the end of next week.

I'm thinking of a cool gift to send over to the Congresswoman's office next week when everything finally is complete. Fruit basket? Cookie bouquet? What says THANK YOU the very best that can be shared with multiple people? Something to think about ...
