The Easter Bunny Arrived!

The Easter Bunny snuck in late last night to Sasha's room and left him an Easter basket and a four foot tall bunny. Sasha awoke at 7 a.m. and we hoped that he wasn't scared of his new roommate.

When we opened his door, he was chanting "Mun-ny" and jumping as high as he could (he loves to jump and I'm waiting for one morning to hear an enormous crash from his crib collapsing from the 'jump that broke the camels back') so we knew that he and his new friends were going to be chums for life.

Giving "Mun-ny" a hug.

and giving Mun-ny a smoochie.

We quickly went over the rules for our Easter egg hunt which started upstairs outside his room. He used a basket left over from our wedding and proceeded to find the eggs. He's so good at this game that we thought he might have the skills to be a crime scene investigator. He found all the eggs - 37 in total.

As the third easter egg hit the basket, it flew apart and Sasha noticed the contents - chocolate! This really slowed the Easter egg hunt down as every egg in his basket became an enticing opportunity to gorge on candy. He finally finished with much prodding (why continue on when you haven't finished all the candy you have yet??). He collected 37 eggs in total.

We lamented that we didn't make it to a breakfast with the Easter Bunny but we weren't sure how Sasha would do after his run in with Santa. So, we created our own breakfast with the Easter Bunny. Sasha tried to share his grapes with Mun-ny and she thanked him for sharing (he did not, however, offer to share his chocolate with Mun-ny. You just have to draw the line on sharing somewhere.)

And, yes, no event would be great without an opportunity to dress Sasha up a bit. He liked his bunny ears.

We all wish you the best of Easters. Our plans today include chilling out a bit (can you believe I had to ask Nathan if we could just relax a bit today as he was vaccuuming in the kitchen. Come on - vaccuuming should be completely ban on Easter!). We're going to have ribs (Nathan's fav) for dinner along with a bunch of deviled eggs (you know 36 hard boiled eggs make a boat load of deviled eggs). Should be fun and Sasha now has another favorite holiday to look forward to next year.
