Happy 2nd Birthday, Sasha!
Sasha turns TWO! Yes, this is his way of showing you how old he is. He alternates this with the Vulcan "live, long and prosper" sign. I think it's okay that he's developed an early appreciation for Star Trek.
Sasha celebrated his second birthday in great two-year-old style. The birthday weekend began with the arrival of Baba and Granddaddy. Sasha spent most of the afternoon opening a bunch of
birthday presents figuring that with Christmas as our guide, there's just so much a little guy can handle all at once.
Opening his Texas cow puppet. Sasha has developed a real love of stuffed animals and puppets. He says the cow goes "Oooooo".
Sasha with his favorite past time (well besides eating) ... putting on shoes. He LOVES shoes. He got three pairs for this birthday and soon his little closet will be spilling over with shoes.
His birthday was jungle themed. He had a white cake with strawberry filling and buttercream frosting (no, no, I didn't make it). And he had a secondary cupcake cake that had chocolate cupcakes. It was too cute. Ooh ... and per Grandma C's suggestion we of course, had ice cream.

See the glazed look of a sugar high on Sasha's face?

On Monday, Sasha's actual birthday, we Granddaddy Platt treated him to his first authentic hibachi-style Japanese showing. It was very cool and Sasha especially liked the never ending supply of food getting shoveled onto his plate.

Both sets of Grandparents were on hand which made the celebration so much sweeter. We had some of our friends and their children over for a small gathering on Sunday.
Sasha is pretty sure that either or both sets of grandparents can move in it any time - it's good being the only grandchild.

At the Japanese restaurant, once Sasha saw me eating with chopsticks, he insisted on being fed with chopsticks too. Such a multi-cultural baby (yes, Nathan picked out his bib).
Toni G. taking Sasha on a 'walk about' in the restaurant. When you're two even setting food on fire is only interesting for so long.
We tried to go over to Kalaidascoops but sadly, it has closed. So, we did the next best thing. We traveled home and created a banana split (now think about that. Bananas - Sasha's favorite food combined with his two all time favorites - ice cream which he screams as "IiiiiEEEE" and chocolate). It was a huge hit and he immediately asked for "More" (yes, he can say more now).
After two hot fudge sundaes, you just can't help but wear a bit of chocolate. A good time was had by all and Sasha can't wait until his third birthday.
