He Looked Happy to See Us!

Today is the day before our court date. We spent some time yesterday rehearsing our answers to the judge's questions. We were coached not to hesitate at all which puts a bit of pressure on us. Apparently our judge is nice and loves to look at pictures. We have three albums that we brought to show her so perhaps that will be a winning combination. We will spend some time tonight working on our court room delivery as well.

We stopped for a couple of hours this morning at the baby home. Sasha ran into my arms laughing all the way when we arrived in the medical ward to get him. It was a good feeling. We spent the morning outside. He is quite stubborn and wants to do what he wants to do. Should fit in with his Platt grandparents quite well ;)

We introduced a sippy cup and he couldn't have liked it more ... well, unless it was a chedder cheese goldfish. He jumps up and down whenever he sees the goldfish and waves his hands in the air. Quite a commercial for Pepperidge Farm.

We fed him his lunch. Today he dined on mashed potatoes and minced meat mixed together. He is always thirsty. I think they limit his beverages to three times a day. Guess that helps on the diaper changes. He melted down (the term I use to describe when he's completely inconsolable) as we left. At least it wasn't a response to our arrival.

We got a note back from Dr. Davies suggesting that indeed Sasha could have scabies. I've been itching ever since I arrived most likely a psychosomatic response. He has suggested that we all treat ourselves for scabies which will be SO much fun. It involves painting ourselves from head to toe with elimite lotion. I think that will require much sampling of various Russian champagnes to get through.

Please say a little prayer for us that our court date goes well tomorrow. It will be at 10 a.m. and should be over in about an hour. At that point, we will know if the ten days are waived.
