More Waiting

I've been working with a team of dedicated volunteers to put on A Night of Promise. We designed the event to be universally appealing - 12 different food stations, unique beverages in an open bar, over 50 silent auction packages, a 50/50 raffle, a Matroyshka doll game and 10% off private shopping at the largest electronics store in the U.S. while helping fund much needed projects in Russian baby homes. Yes, something for everyone!

The Cradle Cares 2006 goal is $25K. Matt Zagorski, Chef Extraordinaire and coordinator for all the food and beverages (the important part of the event) and I wanted to make $10K. We raised over $16K! Wow! Besides us reaching our goal, the event was really classy and fun. I hope that everyone will join us next year. We're working on finalizing a date so stay tuned!
Our Boy Scout commitments have us swamped. Spring brings Cub Scout rallies and every night is another community rally. In addition to rallies, we just finished a large scale event for the local troops and older cub scouts called Webelos Woods. It turned out great but certainly added to our exhaustion.
We heard from our agency on Friday that our documents will be submitted to the Kaluga court today. It will take a couple weeks for them to review the documents and inform us of our court date. It seems like FOREVER! We keep worrying that something will happen that will prevent us from bringing Sasha home. In our hearts, he is already our son. We keep praying that despite the extra wait that everything will line up so we can bring him home. He just needs to come home!
